On Monday, after over a year into this investigation about whether or not President Trump colluded with Russia to influence the election, the house intelligence committee made an announcement regarding the investigation. Their conclusion? There is no evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. According to the Washington examiner, here is their statement:
We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” the committee said in a one-page summary of its findings released Monday afternoon.
In addition, the committee took issue with the Intelligence Community assessment of Russian motivations in the 2016 election. The committee agrees with the assessment that the Russians did, in fact, try to interfere — the findings cite “Russian cyberattacks on U.S. political institutions in 2015-2016 and their use of social media to sow discord.” But the committee disagrees with the Intelligence Community judgment that Russian leader Vladimir Putin specifically tried to help Donald Trump win the election.
In addition to this announcement, the committee also announced that they will be ending the investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election. So, what does this all mean? It means that this investigation was a sham from the start and we all pretty much knew that this would be the conclusion. However, even though I say this, it’s important to note that this is a partisan decision obviously, not trying to discredit this decision, but I’m just pointing out that there is some bias in there.
Now, does this affect Mueller’s investigation? Personally, I don’t think it does, and I think President Trump should leave Mueller alone for now. Who knows, maybe soon, he will stop his investigation, but until then we don’t quite know everything yet. To note as well, Mueller has no real basis for charging Trump with obstruction of justice, so if the left thinks that Mueller is going to get him for that, they are mistaking.
With this announcement, I imagine the left is about to have a nuclear meltdown. All of their accusations regarding this against the president and his administration, have completely been shattered to little tiny pieces, and we just know the left is about to insane. Ultimately I’m not surprised, and I’m pretty sure most on the right aren’t very surprised either. With this investigation taking another major blow, hopefully we can soon move on from this whole situation once and for all.
