The state of our nation is deeply troubling right now. We are more divided than we have been in a very long time. You would think that because of a pandemic, we would unite, but in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, the country went into a state of chaos. Cities like Minneapolis, Portland, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and LA, erupted into riots and looting. A lot of this was led by BLM and Antifa. Stores were burned down, and some completely emptied out. This has been happening for over 3 months, and the democratic politicians in power in these cities, refuse to do anything about it. The main reason for this is because a lot of these people were taught a very false perception of America. They believe that America is a horrible evil racist country, and the only way to fix it is to tear it down and remake it.

As I said before, the violence in the cities came from groups like BLM and Antifa. While the left would like to say that these groups don’t actually exist, the reality is that they do exist and are responsible for violence and destruction all over the country. The BLM organization is a marxist anti-american group who pledges to tear things down like the nuclear family, for example. They claim that they want to bring racial unity, but in reality they bestow racial division. They shout false things like “cops are hunting down and killing black people every day”, or that “black people have to worry about being killed for their race every time they walk out the door”. When they say “Black Lives Matter” they are only talking about those killed by cops. Others, they completely ignore them. Don Lemon admitted as much during his interview with Terry Crews. Everything is about race to these people. If businesses don’t say the right stuff about BLM, they are shouted out of town. If you don’t repeat the BLM beliefs, you are canceled. It is all about race. While this is a problem on the surface, the problem is actually much deeper.

Race has always been at the center of attention to many people. In fact, some people put their identities into their race. Today’s culture always puts something out about race. Race is a defining feature for many, but there is a harsh reality people need to face. This harsh reality is your race does not matter. Race is literally just a skin color, a physical feature of your body. However, your identity should not rest in it. God created us in His Image, therefore all we all are equally valuable to Him. Jesus died on the cross and resurrected from the grave 3 days later in order to free all of us from the bondage of sin.

For God loved the world in this way, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life – John 3:16

This is not ignore that people have suffered because of their race, especially black people. However, when you stop looking at it from man’s perspective and look at it from God’s perspective, you would realize that we are all equally sinners, but we are all equally valuable to God. When you put your identity into Christ, things like race become insignificant. Of course, this won’t go well in today’s society. Andrew Breitbart once famously said that

Politics is downstream of culture

Also, I say that culture is downstream of God. When people realize that God should be at the forefront of our lives, the culture reflects this, which ultimately leads to how our politics are shaped. When our society decided that God was no longer necessary, everything went down hill. Without God, people immediately look for things to replace Him with. For some it’s materialistic, for others, it’s self. The problem is that self is deeply unfulfilling, which leads to a whole mess of problems. When unfulfilled, you start to find things that can make you feel better, for many, it’s victimhood. If you see yourself as a victim, you don’t have to take responsibility for anything, which is why race is very important to them. In today’s world, if you are the right race, you are victim. Everything bad that has happened is because the system is working against you, because of your race. This leads to a very miserable life, which is why so many people are angry right now. However, when God is at the center of your life, none of this actually matters.

This is where the church has failed miserably. They decided that the culture was not worth reaching out to which is why we eventually lost it. Sadly, many churches have fallen into the wokeanity trap that says race matters to your identity. This is why I do this, and why many other Christians do this. If we want to change American politics, we have to pursue the culture tell them about Christ. If we just cower, and stay in our perspective bubble, it will be nearly impossible to win this country back.
