On Monday, Chick Fil A CEO, Tim Tassopoulos, announced that the popular Christian restaurant chain will no longer donate to Christian owned charities that have been deemed “Anti-LGBTQ” by the left. According to The Daily Wire, in a interview with Bisnow, Tim Tassopoulos said this
“As Chick-fil-A expands globally and into more liberal parts of the U.S., the chicken chain plans to change which charities it donates to after years of bad press and protests from the LGBT community,”

“Beginning next year, Chick-fil-A will move away from its current philanthropic structure, Bisnow has learned. After donating to more than 300 charitable organizations this year, the Atlanta-based fast-food chain will instead focus on three initiatives with one accompanying charity each: education, homelessness and hunger. ”
According to Bisnow, Tassopoulos said that the company will no longer donate to charities such as, The Salvation Army, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and The Paul Anderson Youth Home. This is honestly, very disappointing. One of the Unique things about Chick Fil A is that they didn’t cave to the leftist outrage mob that were constantly launching boycotts against the company. Then, out of the blue, they decide to cave to the mob. I never thought they would do this, and quite frankly, this was a very dumb move by them.
The reason why Chick Fil A was constantly getting boycott threats is because the family who started the restaurant, are Christians who believed in traditional marriage as stated in the bible. So, it is important to note that this decision wasn’t made and would never be made by the Cathy family. Another reason for the outrage is because that the restaurant regularly donated to charities like the Salvation Army and organizations like FCA. The Salvation Army has done amazing things for a lot of people in need and because of FCA, many High School students have surrendered their life to Christ and became His followers. However, their great crime, according to the left, is that they believe in Christian values like traditional marriage, and that’s very very bad apparently. So because Chick fil a had donated to these places, that means that Chick fil a is a evil, vile, and hateful organization that must be shut down. Ironically, none of these boycotts ever worked, in fact, Chick fil a has gained more success because of it. Boycotts like this in general don’t ever work. When Conservatives tried to boycott Nike for making a deal with Colin Kaepernick, their stock went up. Bottom line is, this move by Chick fil a does not make any sense and may hurt them in the long run. This is exactly what the left was hoping for, and they have vowed to do the same to other corporations.
The libertarian side of me would say that since they are private companies, they can do what they want, and I still believe that, but the conservative side of me sees the deeper issue that is arising from this. Here’s the dirty little secret, the left in this country hates America and they hate the values that went into building this country, which came from Christianity/Judaism. If you are a Christian or a religious Jew, the left despises you and your values. They have a very pagan view of the world and if you have a value system counter to theirs, you are a threat to their worldview and must be shunned from society. They would want nothing more than to use the government to crackdown on Christianity and other areas of American life they detest. Thankfully, the American people are not up for this, and refuse to vote for people like that. Unfortunately, the left has found a new tool to use, and that is corporations.
Over the past decade or so, the left has used corporations to get through an agenda that they can’t get through government. We see this happening with Social Media. After Trump won in 2016, the left vowed to themselves that they cannot let a Republican win the presidency ever again so in order to do this, they needed all conservatives off the air. Since they couldn’t use the government to do it, they decided to go directly after social media companies like Twitter and Facebook. Unfortunately, they caved to the pressure and in doing so, conservatives have widely been censored on these sites. They use excuses like “we have to get rid of hate speech”. The problem is that there is no clear definition of “hate speech” but according to the left, if you disagree with them, you are now on the Alt-right that says hateful things and must be shut down. We saw this with Walmart as well. After the El Paso shooting, and after pressure from leftists, Walmart announced that they would no longer sell ammunition that is used in semiautomatic rifles. This happened because since Democrats couldn’t successfully ban AR 15s via government, so they again pressured corporations to do their bidding. Dicks sporting goods announced that they will no longer sell any type of firearm do to leftist pressure. The left has used bully tactics and the media to attempt to shutdown Christian businesses for the crime of following their religious beliefs. And now we have Chick fil a bowing down to the bully tactics.
This is a very dangerous path that we are going down. Eventually, we’re going to have a cultural segregation to where, there are conservative businesses and there are liberal businesses and we cannot run our country this way. Unfortunately this can’t be simply solved by winning an election. Conservatives and Christians in this nation need to make a cultural stand against this, if we wish to preserve the very foundation of America.
