What Beto O’Rourke Said At The LGBTQ Town Hall, And Why It Should Worry Religious People

On Thursday, CNN hosted yet another townhall for the Democratic presidential candidates. As per usual for all townhalls hosted on CNN, this was an opportunity for the democratic candidates to grandstand and pander to their base. The last townhall they held was over the issue of climate change. As you would figure, the Democrats didn’t offer any real solutions and were just there to virtue signal. They completely solutions like nuclear energy that would actually be efficient and cheaper. The townhall on Thursday, went over LGBTQ issues, so yeah, you knew this was going to go well. As always, Democrats said many ridiculous things that pandered to their base and alienated many people in the middle of the country. However, there was something that one democratic candidate said that was deeply troubling and should worry religious people in this country.

So Beto O’Rourke, who is currently polling at 2% and is looking for attention, said something on that stage that will serious ramifications in this country. On Friday during my show, I briefly mentioned this, but after looking into more of what he had said, I wish I would have spent the entire episode on it. At the townhall someone had asked Beto “should religious institutions, like colleges, churches, charities, lose their tax exempt status if they oppose same sex marriage?” Here is his answer.

Yes. There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break for anyone or any institution, that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us. We are going to stop those who are infringing on the human rights of our fellow Americans.

WTAF! What in the world! So basically, any religious institution, whether it is a church, a religious school, a religious adoption agency, any of them who believes in traditional marriage as is outlined in the Bible, according to Beto, they should lose their nonprofit status. Now some of you are probably thinking “what’s the big deal”? “Churches will just start getting taxed”. “What’s wrong with that”? Well, here is the reason why it is a big deal.

Here is the reason why churches and other organizations losing their tax exempt status is a dangerous thing. The reason why churches and other religious organizations are tax exempt was to prevent government intrusion. It was a way to protect churches from getting shutdown by the government. Now, if churches were to lose their tax exempt status they would then become a regular LLC. The problem with this is that once they become a LLC the government then can start using anti-discrimination laws against them. For example, if a church were to not allow same sex weddings, which is biblical and is within their rights, the government can shutdown that church for supposedly violating anti-discrimination laws. For those who don’t believe this will happen, well it’s already happened, just not to churches yet. Back in 2012, a huge controversy took place at a cake shop in Colorado. The Masterpiece Cakeshop owned by Jack Phillips, who is a Christian, came under fire for refusing to make a cake for a same sex wedding. His business was threatened to be shutdown if he didn’t comply and went all the way to the Supreme Court. Thankfully, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Jack Phillips. I hope that it doesn’t go this far, but I fear that this will soon reach into the home life. Let me explain.

One of the other institutions that could be affected, if Beto gets his way, is religious schools. Just like churches, religious schools are tax exempt to stay clear of government intervention. If Beto got his way and these schools were to start being taxed, private Christian schools for example will be dictated by the government what they could teach. If a Christian school is teaching biblical values and teachings, which includes the fact that homosexuality is a sin, then these schools will be forced to change or face a fine. Where this can affect the home life is that if parents were to pull their kids from these schools and start home school, the government then could come in, shut it down for being a “fake school” and take their children away for truancy. Think I’m fear mongering, well we’ve already seen this happen. In Canada, parents had their daughter, who believed she was a boy, taken away for refusing to get her puberty blockers. In Ohio, parents had their daughter, who also identified as a boy, for refusing to let her get hormone treatment. Like it or not, if we continue down this road, it will start happening everywhere and people aren’t going to stand for it. I hope to have a wife and kids in the future and I’ll tell you this. If the government starts doing this and they came to my house to take my children for having the audacity to teach Christian values and the teachings of Christ and what He did for us, you best bet that I will do everything in my power to protect family from that sort of government intrusion. Funny enough, Ben Shapiro got hit by the social media mob for saying this, which is another topic for another day.

People often ask, if you are criticizing what President Trump did or said, why are voting for him? Why not vote independent? Simple, The Democratic Party. Seriously, they have shifted so far left that even people Hillary Clinton looks like a moderate. Right now, Elizabeth Warren is likely to be the nominee, and she has gone full Bernie Sanders and no doubt believes what Beto O’Rourke believes. So, if I have a choice between someone who says and sometimes does a lot of stupid things but gives us some conservative policy and someone who wants to transform America into a full on socialist country and could potentially crack down on churches, that’s not a choice. Conservatives who were actively against Trump in the 2016 election, and most had good reasons for their choice, those same people are openly saying that they will be voting for Trump in 2020 because of insane Democrats have become.
