Over the weekend, a mass shooting took place in Odessa, Texas. According to The Daily Wire, the Odessa Police Chief, Michael Gerke, told the public that about 3:17 P.M local time, a DPS officer stopped the shooter’s vehicle just outside Odessa. The shooter shot the officer, and then fled the scene. The shooter then drove to several other locations in Odessa and shot multiple people, including a 17 month old baby. The shooter then abandoned his vehicle and stole a mail while continuing to shoot at innocent people. He was approached by law enforcement at a local theater and was shot and killed by police after a shoot out. 7 people total were killed and about 20 were injured. This is all obviously very horrific and heart breaking, especially regarding the 17 month old baby. I can only imagine what the parents of the baby are going through. Naturally, you would assume that everyone would be on same page and come together during this tragedy right? Well unfortunately you would be wrong. As per usual, both sides are screaming at each other. Whenever something like this happens, everyone wants to attack each other and blame each other for the shooting instead of coming together and talking solutions. While both sides are definitely guilty of this, the left is by far the worst and it is not even close.
Whenever a mass shooting happens, the topic of gun control usually comes up. The left always claims that the guns are the sole problem, never mind that mental health plays role in these shootings, never mind that gun control laws would not have prevented this, no the guns are the problem. The left then suggests that there needs to be an “assault weapons” ban, although this was tried in the 90’s and didn’t do a thing, but this time it will definitely work. The problem is, as I said before, extra gun laws and gun bans wouldn’t have stopped. Why you ask? Well because the laws in place would have already prevented this guy from getting a gun, but he of course found a way to get one illegally. According to The Wall Street Journal, the shooter was denied the ability to legally purchased a firearm after he failed a background check due to being declared mentally unstable by the court. He then apparently, illegally purchased the AR 15 he used in the shooting in a private purchase. Not long before the shooting, the shooter was fired from his job and then proceeded to call the FBI and 911 telling them that he has faced atrocities in his life and started rambling. Shortly after the call, the attack started. The point of this is that, despite him being legally barred from purchasing and owning a firearm, he still found a way to get one, illegally by the way. This means that if new gun control measures were passed, he still would probably gotten the gun. This doesn’t matter to the left though, they prefer to act in worst way possible.
With gun control, instead discussing solutions, they prefer to shout about the problem and then shame anyone who disagrees with them. On Twitter the other day, the phrase #MoscowMitchMassacre was trending, which basically means that the left is saying that Senator Mitch McConnell is to responsible for the shooting because he disagrees with them on gun policy. This drives me up a wall. The left continually suggests that anyone who doesn’t agree with their gun policy ideas has blood on their hands and don’t care about people getting killed. They did this with Sandy Hook, they did this Parkland, they’ve done it with pretty much every mass shooting. Keep in mind that these are the same people advocate for abortion up to the point of birth. They also of course blame the NRA. They suggest that the NRA uses blood money to profit off of shootings, which is absurd, and even going as far as to calling them a terrorist organization. So on Wednesday, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors declared that The NRA is a terrorist organization. Here is what happened, and this is according to The Washington Post.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution Tuesday declaring the National Rifle Association a “domestic terrorist organization” and urging the city to examine its financial relationships with companies that do business with the group.

The sharply worded declaration noted recent acts of gun violence, including the July shooting that killed three people, all younger than 26, at a food festival in Gilroy, Calif., south of San Francisco.

“The National Rifle Association musters its considerable wealth and organizational strength to promote gun ownership and incite gun owners to acts of violence,” it read. “The National Rifle Association spreads propaganda that misinforms and aims to deceive the public about the dangers of gun violence, and … the leadership of National Rifle Association promotes extremist positions, in defiance of the views of a majority of its membership and the public, and undermine the general welfare.”
Apparently it’s bad that the NRA encourages people to protect themselves with firearms. Also, the NRA has never incited people to violence. That was just a complete and utter lie.
“The City and County of San Francisco should take every reasonable step to limit those entities who do business with the City and County of San Francisco from doing business with this domestic terrorist organization,” it noted.
How absurd! How disgusting! According to these people, anyone who is a NRA member, or even owns a gun, they are now a terrorist. How exactly does the left expect us to take them seriously on guns when they do stuff like this.
Our country seems to be at its lowest point when gun control comes up which is quite sad. We could have nice reasonable conversations with people about this topic, but the left doesn’t want that. They rather call us murderers and try to keep conservatives from speaking instead of wanting a open discussion. This right were how Trump was elected and why he should be reelected because if Democrats get power, this country will go down a very dangerous and scary path.
