This New York Times Piece Is Why Trump Is President.

When it comes to journalism, the media like the portray themselves as these objective journalists. They tell everyone that they only report the facts and they have no partisanship. They are the ones to look up to for the whole story. They report both Democrats and Republicans fairly. When they go after President Trump, they do it in the fairest way possible. If you think this is bullcrap, congratulations, you have a brain. Anyone who says the media is objective with no bias, has been living under a rock for the past decade at least. Time and time again, we see the true colors of the media pour out to the point where they don’t even hide it. This is evident in this New York Times piece.

This whole situation started with a guy named Arthur Schwartz. Arthur is a sort of advisor to Donald Trump Jr. Basically, he and some others decided that they were going to dig up old tweets from New York Times journalists. Some of tweets showed that some journalists have said some pretty racist and antisemitic stuff. Now, as a general rule, I am against the act of digging up old tweets to destroy somebody’s reputation, but this particular situation is different and I’ll explain why in just a little bit. The New York Times, however, thought this was really bad. “How dare they do this?”, “Donald Trump is attacking the press!” “HE IS MEAN!” The New York Times has a piece that basically says this titled, Trump Allies Target Journalists Over Coverage Deemed Hostile To White House, by Kenneth Vogel and Jeremy Peters. Here is what it says.

WASHINGTON — A loose network of conservative operatives allied with the White House is pursuing what they say will be an aggressive operation to discredit news organizations deemed hostile to President Trump by publicizing damaging information about journalists.

Funny, this seems similar to what The New York Times has done many times over the years. Also, it is similar to what Media Matters does on a daily basis. It continues.

It is the latest step in a long-running effort by Mr. Trump and his allies to undercut the influence of legitimate news reporting. Four people familiar with the operation described how it works, asserting that it has compiled dossiers of potentially embarrassing social media posts and other public statements by hundreds of people who work at some of the country’s most prominent news organizations.

President Trump didn’t have to discredit the media. You did that to yourselves.

The group has already released information about journalists at CNN, The Washington Post and The New York Times — three outlets that have aggressively investigated Mr. Trump — in response to reporting or commentary that the White House’s allies consider unfair to Mr. Trump and his team or harmful to his re-election prospects.

Uh huh?

Operatives have closely examined more than a decade’s worth of public posts and statements by journalists, the people familiar with the operation said. Only a fraction of what the network claims to have uncovered has been made public, the people said, with more to be disclosed as the 2020 election heats up. The research is said to extend to members of journalists’ families who are active in politics, as well as liberal activists and other political opponents of the president.

These guys have no self awareness.

But the material publicized so far, while in some cases stripped of context or presented in misleading ways, has proved authentic, and much of it has been professionally harmful to its targets.

“If the @nytimes thinks this settles the matter we can expose a few of their other bigots,” Mr. Schwartz tweeted on Thursday in response to an apologetic tweet from a Times journalist whose anti-Semitic social media posts had just been revealed by the operation. “Lots more where this came from.”

The campaign is consistent with Mr. Trump’s long-running effort to delegitimize critical reporting and brand the news media as an “enemy of the people.” The president has relentlessly sought to diminish the credibility of news organizations and cast them as politically motivated opponents.

That’s because you guys are politically motivated opponents and we knew that before Donald Trump was President.

“Two can play at this game,” he said. “The media has long targeted Republicans with deep dives into their social media, looking to caricature all conservatives and Trump voters as racists.”

This is why they are doing and I honestly can’t blame them. I’ll explain more in a little bit.

But using journalistic techniques to target journalists and news organizations as retribution for — or as a warning not to pursue — coverage critical of the president is fundamentally different from the well-established role of the news media in scrutinizing people in positions of power.

Oh really! They cannot be serious.

“They are seeking to harass and embarrass anyone affiliated with the leading news organizations that are asking tough questions and bringing uncomfortable truths to light,” Mr. Sulzberger said. “The goal of this campaign is clearly to intimidate journalists from doing their job, which includes serving as a check on power and exposing wrongdoing when it occurs. The Times will not be intimidated or silenced.”

Oh freaking really!

The operation is targeting the news media by using one of the most effective weapons of political combat — deep and laborious research into the public records of opponents to find contradictions, controversial opinions or toxic affiliations. The liberal group Media Matters for America helped pioneer close scrutiny of public statements by conservative media personalities.

Ok, when Media Matters does it, it’s perfectly fine, when conservatives do it, it’s really bad.

Basically, The New York Times is angry that the tactics they have used themselves, is being used against them. At the same time, they claim that all they are doing is objectively checking President Trump, which is utter nonsense. This is the problem with the mainstream media. They claim to be objective, but time and time again, they prove that this is not the case. Also, the media, particularly The New York Times, have a history of digging up old stuff from people they don’t like to destroy their career. They did it to Kyle Kashuv, they did it to Tucker Carlson, etc. They have done this to many people, and they have the audacity to get offended when it’s done to them. Honestly, these people need to put on shoes, grab their keys, get in their car, drive to Walmart and buy a mirror. The amount of self aggrandizement that comes from the media is just astonishing. Honestly, good for Schwartz for doing this, good for him, the media and the left in general deserves this. If they want to continue to do this to us, then they shouldn’t expect conservatives to sit back and do nothing.

I know I have said this many times, but this why you got Trump, the left has no one to blame but themselves. When you have a media calling conservatives “racist” for 8 years, the only way to respond is to run someone who’s going to be a giant middle finger to these people. Do I wish Trump had better character? Of course, but his constant dinging at the media is great, and they very much deserve it. If the media wants to continue this, then they shouldn’t be surprised when Trump wins reelection in 2020.
