On Saturday, possible bombshell news broke out that could be bad news for President Trump. According to The Washington Post, President Trump allegedly concealed details of meetings that he had Vladimir Putin. Whether or not this will definitely affect Trump, we don’t yet. However, I’m going to give my thoughts on where this could go and my thoughts on the report overall, but first, here are some details of the report.

President Trump has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal details of his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including on at least one occasion taking possession of the notes of his own interpreter and instructing the linguist not to discuss what had transpired with other administration officials, current and former U.S. officials said.

Trump did so after a meeting with Putin in 2017 in Hamburg that was also attended by then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. U.S. officials learned of Trump’s actions when a White House adviser and a senior State Department official sought information from the interpreter beyond a readout shared by Tillerson.

The constraints that Trump imposed are part of a broader pattern by the president of shielding his communications with Putin from public scrutiny and preventing even high-ranking officials in his own administration from fully knowing what he has told one of the United States’ main adversaries.

As a result, U.S. officials said there is no detailed record, even in classified files, of Trump’s face-to-face interactions with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years. Such a gap would be unusual in any presidency, let alone one that Russia sought to install through what U.S. intelligence agencies have described as an unprecedented campaign of election interference.

Mueller III is thought to be in the final stages of an investigation that has focused largely on whether Trump or his associates conspired with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. The new details about Trump’s continued secrecy underscore the extent to which little is known about his communications with Putin since becoming president.
So basically what the report says is that President Trump allegedly had secret meetings with Vladimir Putin and kept from the public and even some senior officials in his own administration. Overall, this isn’t exactly good for the President, but I don’t think it’s deeply damaging for him. And by the way, Trump has denied ever taking steps to conceal meeting’s details. The problem with the report though is that, there hasn’t been a whole lot more after this. In fact, this is mostly it, so I don’t know whether or not this is 100% true. I’m just reporting on it to inform those who haven’t heard of it yet. With all that being said, there are 2 possible scenarios for where this goes.
Scenario number 1 is that this proves Trump colluded with the Russian government and that he went to extraordinary lengths to hide these details from people. Scenario number 2 is that this doesn’t prove anything criminal or impeachable, and that this is a nothing burger. I’m going with the ladder. I fail to see that this proves that Trump definitely colluded with Russia. Is it shady? I don’t think so, because I think the reason why he would’ve done this is to protect the notes from leaking to the media, because this administration has leaked pretty much everything, which is not inappropriate.
In the end, I don’t think Trump will get in legal for this, he might, but I just don’t think he will. Like I said before, I don’t Trump colluded with Russia because I have not seen evidence for such thing and Mueller investigation hasn’t exactly come up with anything as of now. Again, I don’t know and you don’t know either. As I have said a million times, the thing to do is to wait and see where the evidence takes us.
